The Boxpress Music Time Show with Brian Hughes

Show #3: "Perfect" Part 2
On this week's show, as with last week, Brian ones again explores what makes a song "perfect" by playing two songs and discussing them.

There's lots of yelling in what you consider perfection; very interesting.
Keeping in line with ignoring the less subjective "perfect" considerations such as "Like a Rolling Stone" or "Smells like teen spirit" I will offer up -
Terence Trent D'Arby's "Wishing Well"

Hey Brian!

Great show! You should be on satalite radio!

I would add Screaming for Vengence By Judas Priest.

Seems to have all the things you look for and Rob Halford is a god!

As far as these great comments go: first - thank you! Secondly, Lou Reed is one of our greatest song writers, both in his solo career and with the VU. I would like nothing more than to do a full hour of his material and break it down. Also, that being said, there is nothing worse than a bad Lou Reed song. But that's why he's so amazing! Also - I would have to agree with Screaming for Vengeance. It certainly hits a climax with Halford's scream at the end. 1982/83 will forever live in my heart for both Screaming for Vengeance and The Number of the Beast by Maiden. GREAT METAL YEAR! I was planning on playing "At Least That's What You Said" by Wilco on one of the "perfect" shows. I also think Puccini's "Nesun Dorma" a perfect song. I always tear up when I hear that aria - no matter who's singing it.

THIS WEEK! Final songs/sessions. I'm going to rest my mouth on this show, not talk as much, and let those dearly departed do the talking. I can't wait for this show.

All the best!
