Definitely check this publishing group out -they have a wide range of imprints, they handle established authors and new authors, and they've got a good reputation as well. Not to mention they've got multi-media formats. They've also got a ton of links on their site about publishing and what's recommended to submit.

Oh -and you should totally email Scott Lynch -the guy is a brilliant author, got his first book published a couple of years ago (The Lies of Locke Lamora) and got picked up for a 7-book series deal (now being picked up for film as well) -but he's SUPER nice and down to earth and will be able to probably help you out with the agent question as well! That sounds awesome! And you're most welcome! I've got some other sites and links I need to pull out for ya but those are two recommendations I stand by!

Sounds like you've got a good plan though and having some time alone will really help you focus.

Can't wait to hear the Lou Reed stuff -he's a good one and a favorite of mine!
